On 8 acres of land in Wobulenzi, Luweero District, just 47 kilometers from Uganda’s capital Kampala lies an emerging multidisciplinary space dedicated to contemporary art, regenerative practices, education, cultural repository, and community engagement. This dynamic space aims to foster national and international cultural exchange, serving as a demonstration center for collaboration, research, and creative experimentation.
By providing accessible opportunities for education and exploration to communities through practical solutions, cultural dialogue, and creative exploration with the aim of bridging traditional knowledge with contemporary innovation, it provides a platform for imagining and building a resilient future.
The name “ERA” reflects the urgency of our time an era shaped by societal and environmental challenges that demand collective action.
With a focus on education, accessibility, and cross-disciplinary exploration, ERA promotes a deeper appreciation for art, culture, and history while looking forward. Our mission is to connect people to each other, to land, and to knowledge systems both inherited and emerging in order to reimagine how we live, build, and care for the world.
We create a space that connects tradition with contemporary times. Our programs and resources encourage hands on learning, inspiring people to reimagine a resilient future for everything from human communities to the microorganisms that are vital to environmental survival.
